How to shave over a tattoo?
Men may want to shave on body parts where there are tattoos. Here are my tips for shaving properly over a tattoo.
More and more men want to shave their chest, legs or arms, or even want to wax their hands . But more and more men are also getting tattoos on these body parts. And yet, we all have a big fear when we talk about tattooing: damaging it. So with a razor blade, it's not easy. In short, we are wondering about the best way to shave over a tattoo.
Here are my tips for shaving over a tattoo.
Does hair grow back after a tattoo?
It is true that many people ask the question: does the hair grow back on a tattooed area? The answer is obviously yes, the hair will grow back on your tattoo. You should know that when you go to get a tattoo, your tattoo artist only epilates the area concerned by the tattoo (or he will ask you to do it by giving you the instructions). In any case, it is not a permanent hair removal! Your hair follicle, responsible for the growth of the hair placed under the skin, is always active! It is therefore logical that your hair grows back after the tattoo And it will grow back the same way as before!
Tips for shaving over a tattoo
You now have your dream tattoo but you want to wax or shave your skin? This may seem perfectly logical for two reasons:
from a general point of view, more and more men are shaving or depilating their body parts. It is no longer uncommon to see men with cyclists' legs, or perfectly shaved legs. Even more and more men are depilating their arms or hands to remove the hair they consider too present, not pleasant.
then, when you have a tattoo, you want it to be visible and above all perfectly clean. Having hair growing on the tattoo, especially if the hair is dense and particularly dark, can hide a tattoo well.
But in order to shave over a tattoo, it is necessary to adhere to certain points.
Shaving over a healed tattoo
Obviously, before passing the razor, the trimmer or the epilator on your tattoo, it will be necessary to wait until it is perfectly healed. In general, the healing period depends on the person and how well your skin recovers. But it can take between 3 and 5 weeks for the skin to be fully healed. Knowing that I advise you to wait as long as possible, do not take risks and rush too much.
Shaving with a razor over a healed tattoo
If you decide to shave with a razor on your tattoo, you will have to avoid the cut at all costs! So here are the things to consider:
be careful to master your shaving tool. Don't use a straight razor or safety razor if you're not used to using them. Prefer a razor specially adapted for sensitive skin. In any case, pay close attention to the quality of the razor blade: it must be clean, not damaged because it could snag your skin.
use a transparent shaving product, which will allow you to clearly see your tattoo and any pimples you may have. Be careful when shaving over pimples or acne . Forget the shaving foam, which completely hides the tattooed skin. Prefer a shaving gel or shaving oil that are transparent.
shave gently over your tattoo, so you don't get razor cuts. Similarly, on certain parts of the body, such as the fingers for example if you have a tattoo on your arms, you will have to stretch the skin well.
Here are the shaving products that I recommend, products specially adapted for the body.
Designed for shaving the male body. Rounded head for maximum comfort. Three lubricating strips for maximum softness. Ergonomic non-slip handle for control in the shower.
The anti-irritation shaving gel allows easy shaving of body hair without irritation.
Suitable for the shower.
Use hair removal cream on your tattoo
If you are afraid of using a razor and cutting yourself on your tattoo, you can alternatively use a hair removal cream on your tattoo to remove the hair. But it is necessary to respect certain instructions:
use a depilatory cream without ammonia or with as few chemical ingredients as possible! Otherwise, it may directly affect the colors of your tattoo.
do not leave the depilatory cream on your tattoo for too long: it could burn your skin. I advise you to test the depilatory cream on a part of non-tattooed skin, to know how your skin will react.
Here is the depilatory cream that I recommend.
The depilatory cream for normal skin is used on the legs, arms, armpits and bikini area. It is formulated with -35% chemical ingredients for soft, silky and freshly scented skin.
