How to avoid itchy beard?
Itchy beards can be a source of embarrassment for many bearded men. Here are my tips to stop having an itchy beard.
Itchy beards can be a real problem for many bearded men. Not only can this ruin everyday life, but it also does not give a great self-image to those around you. Some people might indeed think that you have lice in your beard! And yet, this is absolutely not the reason!!
Why do we have itchy beards?
If you have a beard that scratches every day, for example, it's a sign that you have dry skin, even very dry to the point of having tightness. And yes, the beard does nothing to protect the skin to dry out.
It is true that we bearded men tend to take care of the hairs of the beard but forget a little about the skin under the beard. And yet, having a good skin under the beard, a well hydrated skin, is essential to have the most beautiful beard possible: with a beautiful hair, strong, robust and soft. Et
Who can have itchy beard ?
All bearded men can be affected by itchy beards! Indeed, it is not only men with long beards who can have an itchy beard.
I would even say that it is rather men who have 3-day beards, who do not take the time to maintain their 3-day beards , who are most likely to have itchy beards. Why ? Because generally men who have 3-day beards do not take the time to apply a beard oil that will deeply moisturize the skin under the beard and the hair of the beard. In addition, generally, men who have 3-day beards, or even those who wear 5-day beards, only wash their faces with soap, or with a classic facial cleanser. For example, they do not use beard shampoo which, like beard oil, will gently wash your beard and moisturize the skin under the beard. And thus avoid having an itchy beard.
But men with long beards may also have itchy beards if they don't apply beard oil daily.
In any case, it will not be a pogonophile who will have an itchy beard!
In any case, I know that many bearded men who have itchy beards end up at one point or another having their beards completely shaved, a clean shave. They think it will do them good, and then they go and let their beards grow. But unfortunately, that won't change much.
How to stop having an itchy beard?
To no longer have an itchy beard, it will be necessary to set up a beard care routine. Don't worry, it's not rocket science!
Thoroughly wash your itchy beard
The first care that it will be necessary to bring to your beard, will be to wash it well, and especially to wash it with products adapted to the beard. So, if you had got into the habit of washing your beard with a classic soap or, worse, with a hair shampoo, you will have to change your habits! Similarly, you will not have to wash your beard with clean water. To properly wash your itchy beard, you have two options:
either use shaving soap
or use a beard shampoo.
So of course, in the best of cases and to better protect your skin, I recommend natural products, which will be notably enriched with vegetable oils. Vegetable oils are known for their moisturizing properties. You can also use soaps enriched with vegetable butter, such as shea butter.
Another alternative, ideal for dry skin, is to wash your skin with a superfatted soap .

Moisturize your itchy beard
To hydrate an itchy beard, you have two solutions:
Hydrate your itchy beard with beard oil
Moisturizing your beard, and consequently the skin under the beard, is essential care so that in the long term, you no longer have an itchy beard. And for that, there are not several ways to moisturize his itchy beard: you will have to apply morning and evening, first, a beard oil. Beard oils are a real miracle product to moisturize your itchy beard, because they contain vegetable oils. Depending on the brands, we find different vegetable oils: castor oil is certainly the most used, but we also find grape seed oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, olive oil, sunflower oil... It is obvious that castor oil for the beard has many advantages.
Hydrate your itchy beard with a beard mask
You can also make a mask once a week for your beard, made from vegetable oils that you have at home! You can mix olive oil and sunflower oil, which we all have at home, with castor oil and a little honey, for example. You leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes on the beard, when you have time available in front of you. Ideally, after applying the mask, wrap it in a warm towel. This will allow the hair scales of your beard to open up well and therefore allow the mask to penetrate deep into the hair.
How to properly comb your itchy beard
Another way to avoid an itchy beard is to groom it properly, either with a beard comb or a beard brush . Indeed, the action of the comb or the brush on the skin will promote blood microcirculation, which will allow the skin to function better and therefore to have a less dry hair follicle. Don't hesitate to style your beard every day!
Beard styling isn't just for people with long beards. Even if you have a stubble, combing your skin can only have a positive effect on your skin.
Erase your itchy beard
Finally, my last tip to stop having an itchy beard is to exfoliate your beard. Yes, you can scrub your beard like you scrub your facial skin.
If you have an itchy beard, it's because you have dry skin and most likely beard dandruff. So, to remove them, nothing like a good scrub.
